Terms and Conditions
By using services provided by LB Home Tutoring, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.
Timings/ Lesson Format
Tutoring sessions last 50 minutes, unless otherwise specified at the time of booking. I am unable to tutor past our agreed end time as this has a knock-on effect on my other students. If a student should arrive later than their allocated time, the session will still end at the pre-agreed time and usual charges will apply.
Each session will include 10 minutes of revision time and 40 minutes of teaching time.
I am able to offer flexible session lengths for siblings who are tutored back-to-back – please do ask if this is something you are interested in.
Payment
Payment options are:
- Book a block of sessions and pay for them all upfront.
- Pay per month, upfront
- Pay as you go, at the end of each session
Payment Types:
- Bank transfer payment, block payment upfront
- Cash payment on the day
- Bank transfer payment within 48 hours of each lesson.
Failure to pay will result in tutoring sessions being paused. Future tutoring sessions will not commence until the invoice has been paid in full.
A 50-minute paid trial session is available to each new client before committing to an upfront block booking.
Cancellation
The tutoring agreement may be terminated at any time by either party. If I need to end the tutoring agreement, I will aim to provide at least half a term’s notice wherever possible.
If you have paid for a block of lessons in advance and the tutoring agreement is terminated by either party, I will refund the cost of any unused lessons.
Cancelling or Rearranging Sessions
Both parties may need to cancel or rearrange sessions due to illness, pre-booked holidays or other unforeseen circumstances. Please provide as much notice as possible, preferably at least 24 hours, by:

One cancellation or rearrangement per student, per school term, can be accommodated without charge. However, I ask that cancellations are kept to a minimum wherever possible and are only used when necessary. Where possible, I ask that sessions are rearranged rather than cancelled, as regular attendance is important for maintaining progress and continuity.
If more than one session is cancelled or rearranged during a term, the session fee will remain payable unless the session can be rearranged to another mutually convenient time.
Where a session needs to be cancelled due to exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, I will do my best to rearrange the session. If this is not possible, I will refund the session fee where appropriate.
Missed Sessions
If a student does not attend a scheduled session and no prior notice has been given, the full session fee will be payable.
For sessions that have been paid for in advance, the session will normally be treated as used. However, in exceptional circumstances, I will consider rearranging the session or providing a refund at my discretion.
Tutoring sessions will not resume until any outstanding session fees have been paid.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of students is extremely important to me. I am safeguarding trained and follow appropriate safeguarding procedures. Where I have a concern about a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, I may need to share information with a parent/guardian, relevant professional or appropriate authority where necessary to protect them.
Damages
The parent/guardian is responsible for any damage caused by the child and shall be liable to pay the full cost of repair and/or replacement of any equipment or furnishings damaged beyond repair with reference to new equipment of the same or nearest available specification.
Progress and Outcomes
I will do my best to support each student and tailor sessions to their individual needs. However, academic progress and outcomes depend on a range of factors, including attendance, engagement, effort and support outside of tutoring. I cannot guarantee particular grades, results or academic outcomes.
